Fergus raises $15M in its Series B

Job management software for trades businesses Fergus has raised $15 million it its Series B.

Early-stage investor, Octopus Ventures led the round, alongside EVP who first invested in Fergus in 2017.

According to David Holmes, CEO of Fergus, “Our vision is to help as many trades’ companies around the world as we can. To unshackle them from the admin merry-go-round that leads to poor cash flow, lower profitability and unnecessary stress.”

The cloud-based platform helps mid-sized trades businesses such as plumbers, electricians, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and roofers with administration including workflow and staff communication tools as well as tools for quoting, scheduling and resource planning.

Fergus integrates with Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks as well as a range of other trade suppliers.
The platform is designed to respond to the largely manual, paper-based systems and processes that largely plague trades businesses.

“We know our tradespeople are more successful and lead happier lives because we have built a system that works the way they do, on the job site, in the truck or in the office. No more double entry of data or losing track of jobs. Having a partner the calibre of Octopus backing our vision is beyond exciting for our customers, suppliers and team,” said Holmes.

Fergus customers attribute the platform to improving their workplace experience.

Customer Tina from Hills to Ocean Plumbing in NSW said, “I feel like Fergus has given us a freedom that we have been looking for, for such a long time and now we've finally found it.”

According to Rich Bolton, investor of Octopus Ventures, “Fergus is a brilliant example of a team that is digitising a long overlooked sector, with transformative results for its customers. Their army of fans is growing fast and we think the opportunity to transform the trade sector around the world is boundless. We’re glad we can support that journey.”

The investment will be directed towards product innovation and expansion across the UK.
