Marketplacer appoints PageUp's Tal Rotbart as CTO

Multivendor platform Marketplacer has appointed Tal Rotbart as chief technology officer.

Rotbart moves to Marketplacer after seven years as CTO at talent management software PageUp.

His responsibilities will include shaping the technology direction of the company, with regards to its engineering, infrastructure and cybersecurity, as well as developing further product localisation and cementing the international partner network.

According to Jason Wyatt, Marketplacer’s founder, “Tal Rotbart has that rare mix of exceptional interpersonal and management skills, as well as the technical knowledge and expertise to run a leading-edge technology organisation. He has terrific skills from his experience at high growth Internet companies where he was instrumental in providing the technology vision, strategy and leadership to help the organisations scale from concept through fundraising, acquisitions and beyond.”

Rotbart’s experience pre-PageUp includes leadership positions at SEEK and DiUS Computing as well as founding SpringSense and iContact Media. Rotbart’s past clientele include Sensis, Toyota Australia and Westfield.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the move Rotbart said, “Happy to announce that I've joined Marketplacer as Chief Technology Officer on an exciting journey to bring growth to every ecommerce business on the planet. Yes, it's a big vision — but from everything I've experienced so far — if anyone can do it the team at Marketplacer can.”

In a separate post, Rotbart thanked the team at PageUp for his experience with the business, “Thank you PageUp for the opportunity you provided me to join your journey and grow alongside you. I’ve enjoyed the time I spent with you (even the hard parts), the experience that I’ve gained and most of all – the people I worked with.”
